Today was a day of chores. I had the oil changed in my car and got a much needed car wash. My aunt Nancy came over and she helped me clean up my basement. We put away the xmas stuff, moved in a desk and took a ton of boxes out of the basement to the garage where I will be taking them to the recycling. In return, I gave her a few bags and suitcases that I didn’t need anymore. Also, I gave her enough yarn to fill one of the big suitcases along with a few bags. It is all yarn that I will never knit with. Yarn that I loved at the time but no longer desire.
So thinking on that. I have been wondering about my stash and unfinished projects. When exactly do you consider the project to be an unfinished one? There is a knit along (i can’t remember the link) where everyone is to finish one ufo a month to have 12 finished projects at the end of the year. Here is my thinking. Isn’t purchasing the yarn for a project technically starting the project? If you purchase the said yarn for a specific project and then put it away it is stash but isn’t it also a UFO because you have put it away and are not knitting it.
If this is the case, then I could start many sweaters, socks and shawls from my stash as I have purchased yarn with the intent to knit specific projects. So do I consider those UFO’s. I just don’t know. But it really is a point to ponder for me.

Yes. I should have been knitting on my mom’s sweater. I was supposed to have it done by now right? Not.
I have been working on the blog, getting it going, moving stuff over, changing links ect. Its not difficult but it is time consuming and seems to have eaten up the last two nights. But, now that this is done I know I will be able to get going again on mom’s sweater. Plus, the Ex will have Cameron for a few days and I can spend it knitting.
…but thats not all that I’ve been doing…
Boxing day just wouldn’t be right without going to at least one sale. Mine thankfully was at Make One Yarn Studio … my stash building enablers. Check out their blog. There are pictures of the knitters attacking buying yarn. I actually did good. I bought another bag.
It was 30% off. How could I say no. Not that I need another bag. But what does that matter! Cameron was so cute too when we were in the store. He was helping me buy yarn and picking out colors that he wanted. He kept saying “Mommy, you need more yarn”. Yes. He is my boy.My aunt is coming over tomorrow to go through my stash also. I have a bunch that I think that I can part with. I think. So we will see what happens with that.Now. Its late. I need sleep. So I can knit my heart out tomorrow. I will get emerald done. I will get Emerald done.

The change of the blog, both the url, layout and blogging software is inspired by the need for a fresh start and a better system. I have been contemplating moving my blog for some time now and I was up late tonight waiting for the fire to go out, and decided that it was time to take the plunge. It is by no means complete. I am working on a layout ect and it will be a work in progress.
I also wanted to be able to separate my writing ect from the rest of the blog. I needed a program that was a bit more user friendly.
So there you have it. Nothing exciting. But this is how it is. Hopefully my friends will find me!
