Fridays. Oh how I love thee. I think that the short weeks are the hardest. I have been a day ahead of myself all week. That drives me nuts!! But thankfully it is Friday. This weekend should be semi restful. I teach the Top Down Raglan class on Saturday morning at Make One Yarn Studio and then plan on doing some of my own knitting. Last night (see the picture in the previous post) was the first class for the Venezia sweater from Interweave Knits. I don’t need to take a class for this project, but doing it with a bunch of friends and being “forced” to knit is great. My excuse is that I have to knit and work on the sweater because I have to do my homework so that we can cut the steeks as a class. The sweater pattern has been changed slightly. It is going to be a vneck cardigan. (thanks Dana for all your hard work on that!). I have to work on mom’s sweater too. That will be tonight. I think I know where I’ve messed up so I will go back, work on it and if it all comes together then I should be able to get it pretty much done this weekend. It will be my official first FO for the year. How cool is that for a girl who never finishes anything! So this weekend. Knit. Knit. Knit. That’s it … chant for me!
Amy has me doing some shop models for her also. I will show progress as there is progress to show. Right now I am knitting her Fabulous Floppy Bag. I decided to knit the bigger version and it is easy peasy knitting. At lunch time I have been going down to the Starbucks, coping a squat on the padded bench, opening a trashy novel so that I can read and knit for an hour. Since the bag is knit in the round I am knitting every stitch and don’t have to pay attention to it. It makes for an awesome break to my day. I am finding that when I come back to work I am energized and still happy. YAY for happiness!
I am using Lambs Pride Worsted in Chocolate Souffle and Lorna’s Bullfrogs & Butterflies in Irving Park. The two yarns are held together throughout. This is a quick knit and I would be done it already if I didn’t have so many projects on the go. That is something that I want to rectify. I really want to get knits finished and to do so I need to focus focus focus.
No I have not opened my new spinning wheel. I have been very good and oh is the temptation there. I look at it every night. Longingly. *sigh* Though last night I did spin for about 10 minutes before bed on the Schact. I just needed a little spin in my life.
And my project 365 photo of the day is …
my need for morning coffee. Actually. I am off to Starbuck’s right now.
