Bring on 2007

January 1, 2007 2:15 pm

Happy New Year.

This year I know will be filled with both good and bad. I have two dads dying. So knowing that, well it does put a bit of a cloud on the new year. However, I plan on making the most of each and every day. If there is one thing that I learned in 2006 it was that.

Resolutions

I wasn’t going to make any resolutions this year because I suck at keeping them. But I figured I would give myself a few goals for the next year and see how it goes.

1. Knit from your stash. Now Wendy started this to knit from her overflowing stash. I know that there is no way I could go 9 months without buying yarn. That is just silly. And why would I want to? I love to purchase yarn. However, I do have a huge friggin stash. Huge. Both of fibre and of yarn. So I came up with my own versioin of the KFYS.

  • Always have something from the stash on my needles and be actively working on it.
  • Purchasing a project can only occur once a project has been finished.
  • Using my credit at the store does not count.
  • Gifts do not count.

2. Start and Finish Eunny’s Venenzia sweater. Thankfully I am taking a class at Make1Yarns with a bunch of friends to help inspire the knitting of this sweater. Oh and I’m making it a cardigan rather than a pullover with a slightly v neck.

3. Design something, post the pattern and then design something else.
4. Get my etsy shop up and running with products. (because I keep giving all of my handspun and hand dyed yarn away. Which is just silly).

5. Take one photo a day of my life. I am curious to see how my pictures now will change by the end of the year.

6. 2007 is all about me. Learning to be happy with who I am. Surround myself with like minded individuals. Love me. Find happiness in the simple pleasures. And not get involved in crappy stupid petty relationships.

I think that these are very attainable resolutions with not a lot of stress associated with them. I know its going to be a tough year but if I can make the most of every day and every moment it won’t be so bad.

knitting

Ok I still haven’t finished my mom’s sweater. Today, after the kidlet goes to his dad’s. I am putting on anne of green gables and knitting my heart out. Plus. I have some shop models that are requiring my attention!

I have also started writing very honestly somewhere else. if you want to read it I have no problem sharing the link, but know that what you will read is from my heart and sometimes may not be super rational or make sense. But I think it will lead to interesting reading.

And because I think this is just fucking brilliant (it really suits my sense of humor)

In the year 2007 I resolve to:

Not strip for free anymore.
